- How do I get there?
From Calgary travel South on Hwy 2 to Innisfail overpass. East on Hwy 590 to hwy 816 North and follow signs in to the Lake. From Edmonton and Red Deer travel south on Hwy 2 to Penhold overpass and travel East on hwy 42 to hwy 816 South. No gravel from any direction.
- Any Beaches?
Yes, Pine Lake has a very sandy bottom and therefore all campgrounds offer a fine powder like sandy beach.
- Any Motor restrictions?
No. Bring all the horsepower you would like.
- How’s the fishing?
Pine Lake is recognized as one of the best fishing lakes in central Alberta. Northern Pike, Walleye and perch are all here.
- Is this a good lake for water sports?
Absolutely! Small coves and inlets provide for calm water conditions pretty much anytime of the day. Bring the wake boards, skis and tubes. Please respect anglers who may be in the same vicinity.
- Can I rent a watercraft?
Yes. Most resorts and campgrounds rent all types including fishing, ski and pontoon boats. Some offer seadoos for a real thrill.
- How’s the Golf Course?
Whispering Pines Golf & Country Club is located on the South West end of the Lake. An 18 hole course with full irrigation and grass greens. This resort style setup offers four sets of T-Boxes so everyone in the family can play to their ability. T-times are recommended. Other popular courses in the area are Innisfail Golf & CC, River bend Golf & CC, Alberta Springs Golf & CC and Sylvan Lake Golf & CC. World-renowned Wolf Creek is not all that far either.
